If
you have a tight budget, and not going to be at your
accommodation a lot, then a hostel or Bed
and Breakfast will suit you. In Orlando,
hostels are mainly occupied by the young, and were
originally designed for young people with little money,
although this is not the case anymore, and a lot of
older people use hostels. One big advantage of staying
in a hostel is you will meet other travellers and
there are usually many opportunities for partying
the night away.
The line between Hostels and Budget Hotels
is very blurred and many hostels have swimming
pools, computer access, TV rooms, the facilities you
associate with hotels and motels. Some hostels are
based in the middle of Orlando, some are just minutes
from some of the main attractions. One thing to check
out is the location and most hostel sites, like hostelworld.com,
will give you excellent information on this and many
other points.
Palm Lakeshore Resort and hotel
is about five miles from Disney World and conveniently
situated for many other attractions. Set beside a
beautiful lake, Lake Cecile, this is an ideal base
from which to see Orlando. Double bedrooms with facilities
are about 20 dollars a person a night and there is
dorm accommodation aswell. Access to Orlando and all
the attractions such as Disney, SeaWorld, etc is simple
by public bus – first bus is about 1 dollar
50 cents and all transfers are free, or a day pass
is 3-4 dollars. There is also the express shuttle
to downtown Orlando (more expensive)
Perrihouse Bed and Breakfast is
situated about three miles from Downtown Orlando,
Disney and other theme parks. The building is located
in a bird sanctuary and has a country feel to it.
It has eight bedrooms.
